Hamilton flipped the script - the main draw is the characters and their movement.
The stage itself rotates which feeds into a lot of the songs and dances. The costumes are great but the backdrop is fairly minimal replacing intricate sets for movable scaffolds and stairs that integrate well with the dance numbers. This all serves to draw your attention to the characters.
From what I understand the show takes the exaggerated Hamilton story way further and tries to make Burr and Jefferson look like shit heels. Im a fan of hip hop but not musicals. The cringy fictionalized versions of the characters yell-singing in the Broadway musical style prevented me from finishing the soundtrack.

Because its amazing written they work both in the show and as a soundtrack which means people who cant see it for themselves can fall in love with the music and still get the show and a well preformed show. Its both innovative there are very few broadway shows that incorporate hip hop. I started a music based podcast showcasing heavy music from Ontario such as punk screamo metal or hardcore.
